The Puebla Project is a unique 218m-high building made up of two towers connected to each other by 24m free-span bridges and a common lower parking area. The architectural project was carried out by Elias Estudio.

Our Shear Link Bozzo heatsink has been selected to protect buildings in Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, and Guatemala.

features

The Puebla OAK58 tower is a unique multipurpose building made up of two high-rise buildings interconnected by 3 bridges located in
different levels. The structure is a rigid central core of reinforced concrete, post-tensioned lightened unidirectional pillars and slabs that significantly reduce its own weight (of great impact in tall buildings, reducing the ecological footprint).

To minimize human sensation under strong gusts of wind, the towers incorporate 400 SLB units located between departments with uncoupled concrete walls.

A unique aspect of this project is that the two towers are connected by macro trusses or metallic trusses with concrete cords (floor/ceiling) that stiffen the whole and minimize deflections.

With the macro trusses or trusses, the longitudinal period is shortened from more than 6s to less than 4.5s, which gives an idea of the enormous contribution in stiffness with little weight of these original structural elements.

From the point of view of seismic safety, the building has periods outside its resonant range, so it can be considered seismically isolated.

Globally, it is a concrete structure with mixed parts and a foundation with macropiles with counter beams and a moat as a shear key. Some columns are mixed due to resistance, incorporating metallic profiles that were decided to be straight in height, although they are eccentric at the start. For this project we used concrete from C30 to C80.
